Bryce Evans has dedicated his professional life to law enforcement and public security. He has 40 years of policing experience, starting his career in the United States before returning to Canada, where he joined the Toronto Police Service in 1980.

During his early policing years, Bryce served in various functions, and with his demonstrated aptitude and investigative skills, he advanced into the ranks.  His acute judgement and leadership skills were further recognized as he moved into Senior Management.  His portfolios as a senior officer included these various entities: Professional Standards, Community Safety Command, Court Services, Financial Crimes & Asset Forfeiture, Specialized Criminal Investigations and Detective Operations. In addition, Bryce served as the overall Unit Commander of Homicide, Hold-Up Squad, Sex Crimes and Forensic Identification Services.

Bryce spearheaded ‘Operation Reboot’, whose mandate was to modernize the Toronto Police Service with respect to online vulnerabilities to the Service, investigative practices related to cyber-crime offences, and technological advances in law enforcement based on world-wide best practices.  Operation Reboot led to the creation of the Toronto Police ‘Cyber Crimes Unit’, a unit that places the Toronto Police Service at the forefront of cyber investigations and that has been replicated in other jurisdictions.

Over the years, the Command Officers selected him to lead multiple national and international criminal investigations which included cyber-crimes and counterfeit products. One of the well-known investigations was the “Ashley Madison” adult dating service computer ‘hack’ of its website. Millions of people were affected world-wide.  Bryce not only spearheaded the Toronto Police Service investigation, he was also the ‘Communications Point-Man’, handling this enormous publicity and international media scrutiny scandal.  Bryce appeared in the documentary film released in 2019: Ashley Madison, Sex, Lies and Cyber Attacks and the documentary film released in 2024: Ashley Madison, Sex, Lies and Scandal.

In this regard, Bryce has successfully displayed the leadership, training and crisis communication skills which have qualified him as a designated Incident Commander, a Public Order Commander and member of a CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radioactive, Nuclear & Explosive) Unified Command.

As a “go-to” leader, Bryce had been selected to oversee major events in the City of Toronto.  Bryce understands the dangers and threats inherent in the protection of an organization’s reputation.  He always seeks to employ the initiatives required to elevate, both internal and external perceptions with the goal of maintaining a positive public image.

Capitalizing on his knowledge, experience, and industry network, in 2013, Bryce started his own company, Outside the Box Security Solutions Inc. (OTBSS). He passionately believes that he and his highly qualified team can offer specialized skills and innovative ideas to contribute to, and improve upon, the ever-changing field of consulting, investigations and cyber solutions.

Since its inception, Bryce and his team have provided reliable and informed input for major events such as the Prince Edward Island 2014 Confederation Landing Celebration and the Ottawa 2017 Inspiration Village (Canada's 150th commemoration).  Bryce developed community safety guidelines, emergency plans and liaised between event sponsors, emergency services, event officials, civic administrators, and politicians to facilitate and navigate these events to highly successful conclusions.
